One day a cabdriver looks over to the side of the road and sees the Pope frantically waiving his arms and yelling, "TAXI! TAXI!"

Needless to say the driver pulls over to pick up the Pope. The Pope jumps in and says, "my limo just broke down and I have to get to the airport. I can't miss that last flight to Rome!"

The driver does his best to get the Pontiff to the airport as fast as possible, but the rush hour traffic is horrible and they are getting nowhere fast, so the Pope pleads, "You must let me drive. I cannot miss that last flight to Rome."

The driver is a good Catholic and there's simply no way he can say no to the Pope, so he gives in. Soon the Pope is behind the wheel and they are careening down the road weaving in and out of traffic and even going up on the sidewalk and through red lights.

After a mile or so a cop pulls them over and walks up to the driver's side window. The Pope rolls down the window and before he can appologize the cop's jaw drops and he staggers back to his squad car. He calls his sergeant on the radio and says. "Sarge, I've got a problem here. I think this guy I've pulled over is someone really important!"

The sergeant asks, "Who is it? The mayor?"

"No Sarge, more important than that!"

"Is it the Governer?" the sergeant asks.

"No, Sarge, it's not the Governer. I think he's even more important!"

"WOW!" Exclaims the sergeant. "Don't tell me it's the President?!"

"No, Sarge. I think this guy is even more important that the President!"

"More important than the President! Why do you say that?"

"Well, Sarge, the Pope is his driver!"
